# MMS and the media a page will store

Study notes. Not vendor documentation and not legal advice.

- Wikipedia says MMS sends multimedia content to and from a mobile phone and extends SMS so messages can be longer than 160 characters.
- The article says MMS can deliver up to forty seconds of video, one image, a slideshow, or audio.
- Bandwidth's messaging guide says the API sends SMS and MMS over HTTP, and that an MMS segment count is always 1.
- The same guide says you can upload files up to 3.75 MB, storage is described as free, and files are stored for up to 48 hours.
- It also says Bandwidth does not store text message content after the webhook is delivered, only metadata.

A photo reminder: write MMS, then 3.75 MB and 48 hours if the provider is Bandwidth. Write confirm if the provider is someone else. The forty-second figure stays in the Wikipedia column.
