# Layouts, and the matrix that will not export

- The same reporting guidance describes three layouts: Tabular, Summary, and Matrix. A matrix answers a cross-tab question. It is not the layout you hand to a spreadsheet as a direct CSV.
- Pick the layout from the question. 'Every call' wants tabular. 'Averages by skill' wants summary. 'Skill by disposition' might want a matrix, and then a second export if someone needs rows.

- Do not call a matrix a CSV
