The CUCM bridge into UCCE

Learn it in 5 minutes

  • Agents are CUCM endpoints.
  • The peripheral gateway watches those endpoints.
  • A label must be a number CUCM can route.
  • CTI controls the desktop. The SIP call is still a call.
  • Device targets and extensions drift apart when people rename lines.

What is going on

The bridge fails in ordinary ways: the script returns a label that is not a directory number, the phone is in a partition the CTI route point cannot reach, or the agent is not associated with the application user. None of those are a mystery queue.

Worked example

ICM returns label 4501. CUCM has 4501 in a partition the trunk CSS cannot see. The call dies after a successful script. Fix the CSS or the label, and say which one you changed.

Quiz

1. A successful ICM script guarantees CUCM can ring the phone.

Ecosystem

Sister pieces sit on the ecosystem page: the glossary, the mind map, the integration map, and the sibling labs.

  • Label — The destination the script returns.
  • Peripheral gateway — The process that represents CUCM devices to ICM.

Config. Match the label to a route pattern or directory number and name the CSS.

Troubleshooting. Look at the CUCM dial plan trace for that label, not only the script monitor.

Bridge. This is the on-premises bridge. A Webex Contact Center flow is a different product.

Mind map, sister technologies, and future hooks live on the ecosystem page.
