How to use this lab

Menu

On a wide screen the Menu button is at the top left of the header. It slides in from the left. Close it with Close, the Escape key, or a tap outside the panel.

On a phone the same list opens from Menu on the bottom bar. The bar also jumps to Learn, Diagrams, Play, and Listen.

Course

Start at Start here. The home page lists eight tracks. Open a room, read the takeaways, then the worked example and the quiz on that page. The outline on the room follows the section you are in.

Guide

After the first tour the monkey comes to the middle once, then docks on the right edge. Drag it up or down and it keeps that height on this browser. It steps aside while a menu is open. If you stay on a page for a few minutes it may offer to read along, up to three times. Not now waits, and Stop offering keeps it quiet on this browser.

Open it and use the buttons. Read along speaks the section you are on, scrolls to it, and marks the sentence. Pause, Resume, and Next section are buttons. Voice input uses the browser speech recognizer when the browser has one. If it does not, type in the box.

Read-aloud and the sound theme stay off until you turn them on. The sound themes are generated in the browser. They are not recordings.

Downloads

Each section has HTML and Markdown buttons. A quiz section also has JSON. Diagrams link to their SVG. The Downloads page lists the cheat sheets, the card deck, and the offline zip. Open the lab from the home page.
