Hybrid & Cloud-connected Features
Webex Contact Center Enterprise’s what’s-new page names two hybrid models, then points their internals at a partner guide. Dated feature lines stay on the month Cisco printed them.
01 · Executive summary
Five lines, then why it matters
- Equinix connectivity in the March 2022 note is a WAN to the Business Partner Network through ECX, in the U.S. and EMEA, with bandwidth from 200 MB to 10 GB. [cite:1] re-check
- VPN-less Finesse, same month, does not support FIPPA, and does not support multiple devices reaching the desktop through NAT. [cite:1]
- July 2023 lists email, chat, and SMS through Webex Connect, on request. January 2025 adds WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger to Email, Live Chat, and SMS. A later block on the same article also names Apple Messages for Business. Read the date on the paragraph you quote. [cite:1]
- Windows 11 64-bit is listed for the Finesse desktop, Call Studio, and Reporting. FedRAMP is named for Webex CCE for Government. [cite:1]
- September 2022 states Kari’s Law and RAY BAUM’s Act compliance for 911 in the U.S., and points at the partner technical guide. It also names Cloud-Connected UC analytics and CSA STAR Level 1. [cite:1]

03 · Core concepts
Names, then the page that owns the detail
March 2022 says Webex CCE supports the SBC Peering Hybrid Model and the Localized RTP Hybrid Model, so some contact-center and call-control appliances can stay in a premises data center while others move to the Webex CCE cloud. Further detail is the Customer Premise PSTN section of the Webex Contact Center Enterprise Partner Technical Guide and the Webex CCE Partner Managed Premise Business White Paper. Those internals are not copied here. [cite:1] re-check
You can keep traditional ASR, TTS, and CRM integrations and use cloud Dialogflow CX. Some nodes stay on-premises and some run in the cloud. The example is OTP generation on-premises and other tasks in the cloud. A CX bot can play a static message for up to 30 seconds while a webhook is still processing. [cite:1]
The January 2025 early-access paragraph says Edge Connect is a managed QoS peering over Equinix Cloud Exchange or Megaport, and the next sentence says the connection insulates operations from the Internet by establishing a private circuit through Virtual Connect via VPN. That tension is in the article. The September 17, 2026 Edge Connect article defines Edge Connect as private peering that bypasses the public Internet and reaches Webex Meetings, Webex Calling, and Webex Contact Center Enterprise data centers, through Equinix or Megaport. Quote the page you are using. [cite:1] [cite:2]
January 2025 says Webex CCE supports 48,000 concurrent agents and 300 calls per second on a single tenant. That is not the Finesse 2,000-user cluster line in the design guide. [cite:1] [cite:3]

| July 2024 | Regional media at all supported data-center locations. Media stays in region. Example: control signals to a U.S. tenant home. | January 2025 | 48,000 agents and 300 CPS. Custom code and CVP applications hosted on Webex CCE. WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger in addition to Email, Live Chat, and SMS. Future hooks
- When the partner technical guide section is read into the Canon, replace the deferred hybrid-model row with cited internals. Until then the model names are the whole fact.
- Re-read nhy3hvdb before teaching any line dated before October 2025. The header of that article moves; the section dates above are the ones retrieved on 2026-10-14.
- Prefer n68tcpb, updated September 17, 2026, for what Edge Connect is today.

European calls. Control signals are what the example sends to the U.S. region. [cite:1]
L3Which channels does July 2023 name, and which does January 2025 add?
July 2023 names email, chat, and SMS. January 2025 adds WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger to Email, Live Chat, and SMS. [cite:1]
L3What is the 48,000 figure attached to?
Concurrent agents on a single Webex CCE tenant, with 300 calls per second, January 2025. [cite:1]

On the initial INVITE only, standalone, SIP trunk on VVB. [cite:1]
L4Why is the January 2025 Edge Connect sentence not the current definition?
It is an early-access paragraph that also says “through Virtual Connect via VPN.” The September 17, 2026 article defines private peering that bypasses the public Internet. [cite:1] [cite:2]
L4What must be true before the no-extra-cost regional media line applies?

Oral answers
30 seconds. Webex CCE names two hybrid models in March 2022: SBC Peering and Localized RTP. I do not invent their call flows. The what’s-new page sends that detail to the partner technical guide.
2 minutes. Hybrid IVR, July 2023, is a different idea: some IVR nodes stay on-premises, and the example is OTP, while other tasks use Dialogflow CX. A static CX message can cover up to 30 seconds. Regional media, July 2024, keeps audio in the caller’s region. In the U.S. tenant example, control signals are what travel home. VPN-less Finesse does not include FIPPA or several desktops behind one NAT. Custom SIP headers in the August 2023 standalone note ride the initial INVITE only.
30 seconds, scale. Forty-eight thousand concurrent agents and 300 calls per second is a January 2025 single-tenant sentence. Two thousand is the Finesse cluster line in another guide.
2 minutes, peering. The January 2025 early-access paragraph says Equinix Cloud Exchange or Megaport, and then says a private circuit through Virtual Connect via VPN. I leave that sentence intact and I design from the September 17, 2026 Edge Connect article, which calls it private peering to Meetings, Calling, and Webex Contact Center Enterprise data centers. Digital channels also need a date: email, chat, and SMS in July 2023; WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger in the January 2025 block. Every nhy3hvdb section I used is older than twelve months, so those rows stay re-check.
What you will not say. You will not draw Localized RTP as Virtual Connect, and you will not treat the partner-guide pointer as a configuration you have already read.
