CRM Integrations
Salesforce, Dynamics 365, and ServiceNow each get a Version 2 connector that launches the Webex Contact Center desktop inside that CRM. The three articles share the chat-and-email exclusion, the dial-plan DN gap, and the tenant-timeout gap. They do not share a browser list, a CIF version, or a campaign-field pair.
01 · Executive summary
Five lines, then why it matters
- Each connector launches Desktop inside the CRM. You do not create a new Webex App for the install. [cite:1] [cite:2] [cite:3]
- Chat and email stay on Connect and the digital desktop. The connector articles say those channels are unsupported here, for every CRM that uses these connectors. [cite:1]
- Salesforce screen pop is for inbound calls. Internal and outbound calls search and show data in the connector, and no screen pops. [cite:1]
- A Dynamics screen pop of a CRM record needs a relative URL. If recordType and crmId are both present, the defined URL is ignored. [cite:2]
- Campaign modes named on these pages are Predictive and Progressive. Salesforce’s required business field is CAMPAIGN_CRM_ID. Dynamics and ServiceNow also require CAMPAIGN_CRM_TABLE. [cite:1] [cite:2] [cite:3]

Three consoles, one exclusion
| Console | Article | What must already be true | WebRTC browsers the article names |
|---|---|---|---|
| Salesforce | dyidod, Version 2-New | Lightning. Development, Enterprise, or Ultimate. Access profile allows Wrapup Options. | Firefox and Google Chrome. Edge is not supported. |
| Dynamics 365 | n1lsqvu, header September 15, 2026 | CIF installed first. CIF 1 or CIF 2 matches the app. Online instance. *.dynamics.com on the content-security allow list. | Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome. |
| ServiceNow | ny83tx0, Version 2-New | System administrator. Modern Agent Workspace. Openframe plugin. Do not mix the enterprise app with a developer sandbox. | Firefox and Google Chrome. Edge is not supported. |
03 · Core concepts
Rules that change the drawing
Integrating Webex Contact Center with Salesforce, Dynamics, or ServiceNow launches Desktop from inside that console. The articles say you do not need to create a new Webex App. [cite:1] [cite:2] [cite:3]
Digital channels such as chat and email are not supported with CRM connectors. The Salesforce article says this applies to all CRM integrations using these connectors. Dynamics and ServiceNow print the same sentence. Read the digital conversation in Connect or on the desktop. [cite:1] [cite:2] [cite:3]
Classic mode is not supported. Use a Lightning app from App Manager. The connector is available exclusively for Development, Enterprise, and Ultimate editions. It is not available in Group and Professional editions. Agents need an Access Profile that allows Wrapup Options. [cite:1]
Dynamics uses Microsoft’s Channel Integration Framework. A single-session Dynamics app requires CIF version 1. Multi-session apps require CIF version 2. Omnichannel for Customer Service and Customer Service Workspace are the multi-session examples. Customer Service Hub is the single-session example. On-premises Dynamics is not supported. Install the framework before the connector. [cite:2]
The legacy Agent Workspace is no longer supported starting with the Xanadu edition. The connector is designed for the modern Agent Workspace. The article tells customers to migrate so they keep the integration on Yokohama, Xanadu, or newer. Update sets are only for developer instances. Enterprise-licensed instances install Cisco Webex Contact Center from the ServiceNow store. Mixing the enterprise-licensed app with a developer sandbox is not recommended. [cite:3]
On Salesforce, screen pop is only for inbound calls. A softphone layout without the Name field shows an unknown error instead of the record name. On Dynamics, a Screen Pop node in the flow can open a record when the URL is relative. recordType is the table name, such as incident. crmId is the record identifier. If both keys are present, the defined URL is ignored. [cite:1] [cite:2]
Automatic logout uses a custom value on the Desktop Profile Desktop Timeout. The global Tenant Settings Desktop Inactivity Timeout does not affect the CRM connector and will not log the agent out when that inactive duration is reached. All three articles print that limitation. [cite:1] [cite:2] [cite:3]

Glossary
- CRM connector
- The Version 2 package that launches Desktop inside Salesforce, Dynamics 365, or ServiceNow. [cite:1]
- Lightning
- The Salesforce UI these articles support. Classic mode is not supported. [cite:1]
- CIF
- Channel Integration Framework. Version 1 for a single-session Dynamics app. Version 2 for a multi-session app. [cite:2]
- Channel URL
- The Dynamics article’s provider URL on wxcc-crmconnectors.ciscoccservice.com, with a base query for the Dynamics host. [cite:2]
- Openframe
- The ServiceNow plugin and configuration that hosts the gadget. The article’s minimum example is width 300, height 500, and URL x_caci_crm_wxcc_gadget.do. [cite:3]
- webRtcDomain
- The Desktop-mode domain for the tenant’s region. Salesforce and ServiceNow list a Singapore value. The Dynamics customize table does not. [cite:1] [cite:2] [cite:3]
- CAMPAIGN_CRM_ID
- The campaign identifier all three articles require. Salesforce stops there. Dynamics and ServiceNow also require CAMPAIGN_CRM_TABLE. [cite:1] [cite:2]
- Desktop Profile timeout
- The timeout that can log the connector out. The tenant inactivity timeout does not. [cite:1]

|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Salesforce | Lightning connector. Development, Enterprise, Ultimate. | Classic, Group, and Professional are outside the article. | Setup, Call Centers, then the utility bar. Install for Admins Only. | The Phone never appears because users were not added to the call center. | [cite:1] |
| Dynamics 365 connector | Cisco’s CIF gadget. Not Microsoft’s product Dynamics 365 Contact Center. | CIF version follows the app type. On-premises is unsupported. | Channel provider URL on wxcc-crmconnectors.ciscoccservice.com. API version 2. | CIF 1 on Omnichannel, or an on-premises instance. | [cite:2] |
| ServiceNow | Openframe gadget on the modern Agent Workspace. | Xanadu drops the legacy workspace. Developer update sets are not the enterprise store path. | All, Openframe, Configurations. Roles sn_openframe_user, interaction_agent, and CC Agent. | The phone icon is missing because the user group lacks the CC Agent role. | [cite:3] |
| Digital channels | Chat and email on Connect. | The connector sentence excludes them for every CRM using these connectors. | T8-R03 for the Connect build. The gadget is the wrong window. | Testing WhatsApp by opening Salesforce. | [cite:1] |
| Workforce | Schedules sit outside these install articles. | None of the three pages prints a WFM shift step. | Read the workforce article for the subscription you bought. These connector pages do not print a SKU. | Looking for a shift on the softphone layout. | [cite:1] |
| Recording and quality | These pages do not print a retention number. | A screen pop is not a recording export. | Read recording retention on the Calling or quality article for that feature. | Quoting a Calling retention number as the gadget’s policy. | [cite:1] |
| Emergency calling | These pages do not print 911 or 933. | The agent’s phone path is still the Calling or WebRTC emergency design in T2-R06. | Desktop profile must allow Desktop before WebRTC works in the gadget. | Proving 911 by watching a screen pop. | [cite:1] |
| Identity | The install uses the CRM administrator and an existing contact-center agent. | You do not create a new Webex App. The agent still needs desktop access. | Salesforce administrator, Dynamics administrator, or ServiceNow system administrator. | A package installed by a user who cannot assign the call center or the CC Agent role. | [cite:1] [cite:3] |
| IVR and virtual agent | The flow still runs before the agent. | Screen pop is a flow node on the Dynamics article, after the caller is being offered. | Flow Designer Screen Pop, then the connector. T8-R01 keeps the activity separate from this install. | Expecting the IVR prompt to render inside the CRM utility bar. | [cite:2] |
| AI Assistant | Not named on these three install pages. | Summaries and the Assistant icon stay on T8-R05. | Control Hub add-on, not the call-center XML. | Looking for Auto CSAT in the softphone layout. | [cite:1] |

| Flow Screen Pop | Dynamics record | Relative URL, or recordType plus crmId | The record. Both keys present means the defined URL is ignored. | [cite:2] |
Cross-platform bridges
Future hooks
Canon planning, not a Cisco roadmap: when a connector article adds chat, replace the exclusion sentence with the click-path that article then prints. The Salesforce WebRTC section says device selection is coming in the next release. Until that sentence changes, keep the current limitation. [cite:1]
Sister-system trouble
| Symptom | Likely sister-system cause | Check | Fix | Cite |

| Chat is missing inside the CRM | The connector excludes chat and email. | Which window the agent opened. | Open Connect or the digital desktop. | [cite:1] |
| A Dynamics multi-session app has no gadget | CIF 1 was used on a multi-session app. | Customer Service admin center, agent experience profile. | Use CIF 2 for Omnichannel or Customer Service Workspace. | [cite:2] |

05 · Flow
Order of operations
- Confirm the CRM edition and UI before you download a package. Salesforce must be Lightning and one of Development, Enterprise, or Ultimate. Dynamics must be online. ServiceNow must be the modern workspace. [cite:1] [cite:2] [cite:3]
- Install the framework that console requires. Dynamics needs Channel Integration Framework first. ServiceNow needs the Openframe plugin. Salesforce imports the call-center XML after the package. [cite:1] [cite:2] [cite:3]
- Set the region. The shared names are us1, ca1, eu1, eu2, anz1, jp1, and sg1. Put that value in the call center, the channel custom parameter, or the Openframe key the article shows. [cite:1] [cite:2] [cite:3]
- Give the agent the role or call-center membership the article names, then confirm the phone icon. Salesforce hides the phone until call-center settings are saved and users are added. [cite:1]
- Allow Desktop on the desktop profile and set webRtcDomain for that tenant before you test WebRTC. Use the browser list for that CRM. [cite:1] [cite:2]
- Place a test call through the connector and confirm sign-in and call handling. The articles’ verification step is that test, not a chat transcript. [cite:1] [cite:3]
06 · Config
Clicks the articles print
- Salesforce package: Install for Admins Only. Sandbox uses the sandbox login URL, then you install again in production with Install in Production. [cite:1]
- Softphone layout: Feature Settings, Service, Call Center, Softphone Layouts. Check Is Default Layout. Choose the objects that trigger lookup and screen pop. [cite:1]
- Call center file: download OpenCTI.callCenter-meta.xml from the webex-contact-center-crm-connectors repository the article links. Import under Setup, Call Center, Call Centers. Set WxCC Region and save. [cite:1]
- Salesforce compatibility mode defaults to Lightning. The table says not to change it. Softphone defaults are height 550 and width 400, and the table allows any height and any width. [cite:1]
- Subject template placeholders that are replaced are {direction} and {activityDatetime}. CAD variables are not supported in that template. Object field mappings allow a single CAD variable per field. Combinations and fixed text mixed into one value are not supported. [cite:1]
- Dynamics CIF 2: Customer Service admin center, Workspaces, Agent experience profiles. Name Webex Contact Center. Unique name wxcc_appprofile. Channel provider unique name wxcc_channelProvider_Dynamics. Enable outbound Yes. Channel order 1. API version 2. [cite:2]
- Dynamics desktop URLs: desktop.wxcc-us1.cisco.com, desktop.wxcc-eu1.cisco.com, desktop.wxcc-eu2.cisco.com, desktop.wxcc-anz1.cisco.com, desktop.wxcc-jp1.cisco.com, and desktop.wxcc-sg1.cisco.com with the trailing slash the article prints on Singapore. Add *.dynamics.com to the content-security allow list. [cite:2]
- ServiceNow developer path: All, System Definition, Plugins, install Openframe. Import updateSet.xml, preview, commit. Assign x_caci_crm_wxcc.CC Agent, sn_openframe_user, and interaction_agent. [cite:3]
- ServiceNow enterprise path: install Cisco Webex Contact Center from store.servicenow.com. The article also names a legacy package on that store. Update sets stay on developer instances. [cite:3]
- ServiceNow WebRTC also needs the property sn_openframe.cross.origin.access set to microphone *;autoplay;speaker-selection. [cite:3]
- DN options in Control Hub, Desktop Profiles, Voice Channel Options: Unrestricted, Provisioned DN, or Validate using Dial Plans. The gadget does not enforce the dial-plan option. [cite:1]
- Agent-state sync with the Webex App is enabled in desktop tenant settings or in the desktop profile collaboration settings. Agents already signed in refresh the browser to apply it. [cite:1]

08 · Trouble
What the connector usually broke
| Symptom | Wrong story | What you can cite | Do this | Cite |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| No phone in the Salesforce utility bar | The package failed. | Users see the phone only after call-center settings are saved and users are added to the call center. | Edit the call center, set the region, then Manage Call Center Users. | [cite:1] |
| Classic Salesforce has no gadget | Lightning is a theme. | Classic mode is not supported. | Open a Lightning app from App Manager. | [cite:1] |
| Group edition will not install | Any paid Salesforce org qualifies. | The connector is Development, Enterprise, and Ultimate only. | Confirm the edition before you retry the package. | [cite:1] |
| Salesforce WebRTC fails in Edge | Edge is Chromium, so it matches Chrome. | The Salesforce article says Edge is not supported. Answer from the active tab in Firefox or Chrome. | Close the extra Salesforce tabs. WebRTC answers from the active tab only. | [cite:1] |
| Dynamics WebRTC was tested only in Firefox | The browser list is the same on every connector. | The Dynamics article names Edge and Chrome. | Retest in a named browser. A single-session app also rejects multitab. | [cite:2] |
| On-premises Dynamics | CIF is a protocol, so the server edition does not matter. | The article says on-premises versions are not supported. | Use a Dynamics 365 service or instance. | [cite:2] |
| Agents stay signed in past the tenant idle timer | Tenant Desktop Inactivity Timeout covers the gadget. | That tenant setting does not affect the connector. The profile Desktop Timeout does, when it has a custom value. | Set the profile timeout. Leave the tenant timer out of the design story. | [cite:1] |
| Dial-plan DN list is ignored | The gadget enforces every Control Hub voice option. | Validate using Dial Plans has no effect in the current gadget. Unrestricted and Provisioned DN are the other two options. | Use Provisioned DN when the agent must not type a number. | [cite:1] |
| Outbound call does not pop a Salesforce record | Screen pop covers every direction. | Screen pop is for inbound calls. Internal and outbound calls search and display data, and no screen pops. | Read the connector search results. Add the Name field if the label is an unknown error. | [cite:1] |
| ServiceNow phone icon missing | Openframe is optional. | The icon shows for the user group selected on the Openframe configuration, and that group needs the CC Agent role. | Assign the three roles, then set the user group on the configuration. | [cite:3] |
| Campaign record never opens | Any CRM id field will do. | Salesforce requires CAMPAIGN_CRM_ID. Dynamics and ServiceNow require CAMPAIGN_CRM_ID and CAMPAIGN_CRM_TABLE. Modes are Predictive and Progressive. | Mark the variables agent-visible and map them on the campaign. | [cite:1] [cite:2] |
| Conference button does nothing useful | The desktop conference control is inside the gadget. | Multiparty conference is not supported on these connectors. | Tell the agent the limitation before the design review. | [cite:1] [cite:2] [cite:3] |

“The Version 2 connectors launch the contact-center desktop inside Salesforce, Dynamics 365, or ServiceNow. I do not create a new Webex App for that install. Chat and email are unsupported on these connectors, and the Salesforce article applies that sentence to every CRM that uses them. Salesforce is Lightning only, on Development, Enterprise, and Ultimate. Its WebRTC browsers are Firefox and Chrome, Edge is not supported, and a WebRTC call is answered from the active tab. Dynamics uses CIF 1 for a single-session app and CIF 2 for a multi-session app. On-premises Dynamics is not supported. Its WebRTC browsers are Edge and Chrome. ServiceNow uses Openframe on the modern Agent Workspace, and the legacy workspace is unsupported starting with Xanadu. Predictive and Progressive are the campaign modes these pages name. Salesforce’s required field is CAMPAIGN_CRM_ID. Dynamics and ServiceNow also require CAMPAIGN_CRM_TABLE. The gadget ignores Validate using Dial Plans, and the tenant Desktop Inactivity Timeout does not log it out. This connector is not Microsoft’s product Dynamics 365 Contact Center.”
