Recording and quality management
Recording captures audio. Quality management scores a sample of that audio. A report is not the recording.
Where the fork happens
- CUCM network-based recording can use the phone's built-in bridge or a gateway fork. The port chapter lists 8090/TCP for gateway recording HTTP between CUCM and the gateway.
- SIPREC, RFC 7866, is the session-recording protocol an SBC can use to send a recording stream to a recorder.
- Teams policy-based recording and Webex Calling recording follow those products' compliance settings. They are not the CUCM recording profile.
Troubleshooting
- No audio file: recording profile not on the line, built-in bridge disabled, or the recorder rejected the codec.
- One direction only: the forked stream has the same SDP bugs as a phone call. Capture the recorder leg.
- QM has a score and the agent says the call never happened: you are looking at a different interaction id.
