Transfer, conference, and what stays confirm
Students expect a transfer ladder. The honest version is short. Modifying a session is in the SIP abstract. The method name and the success responses belong to a section this session did not quote. Draw a box labeled modify, and a confirm row for the method.
Learn it in 5 minutes
- RFC 3261 includes modifying a session, not only creating one.
- This session did not extract the REFER method section.
- Zoom's SDK line names scheduled callbacks, which is not the same sentence as a SIP transfer.
- Talkdesk's index names an Advanced Dialer. The dialer guide was not opened.
- Avaya transfer steps were not opened.
Visual
Count the boxes: 4. Each label is a name from a page or a study label marked on the drawing.
Flow
What is going on
Students expect a transfer ladder. The honest version is short. Modifying a session is in the SIP abstract. The method name and the success responses belong to a section this session did not quote. Draw a box labeled modify, and a confirm row for the method.
A callback on the Zoom SDK is a product feature name. An outbound dialer on the Talkdesk index is another product feature name. Neither one is a diagram of SIP REFER.
Conference, park, and barge are the same kind of gap. Add them when you open the page, not before.
Worked example
On the flow page, show setup and a second arrow labeled session modify, cited to the RFC 3261 abstract. Add a note: method name confirm.
Quiz
1. RFC 3261's abstract includes modifying sessions.
True. Creating, modifying, and terminating are all in the abstract.
2. This lab documents Avaya's transfer button.
False. That click path was not opened.
Ecosystem
Sister pieces sit on the ecosystem page: the glossary, the mind map, the integration map, and the bridges.
- Session modify — The SIP job of changing a session that already exists. The method name stays confirm here.
- Advanced Dialer — A Talkdesk docs index name. The guide itself was not opened.
Config. If you cannot cite the method, write modify and confirm.
Troubleshooting. A failed transfer blamed on RTP may be an uncited signaling method. Open the method section.
Bridge. Recording a transfer doubles the problem: two sessions, and a recorder. SIPREC is the recording track.
Mind map, sister technologies, and future hooks live on the ecosystem page.
