Twilio's emergency calling page
Read Basic and Enhanced as different products on Twilio's own page. Enhanced sends the number and the address. Basic does not. The national call center is the fallback the page describes when the number has neither. That is a Twilio sentence. It is not a description of Bandwidth and not a statute.

- Twilio's SIP trunking emergency page says the feature routes emergency calls to PSAPs in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, Ireland, France, Germany, and Austria.
- In the US and Canada it says Twilio supports both Enhanced 911 and Basic 911.
- E911, on that page, routes to the PSAP for the address associated with the Twilio number and includes the number and the address for the dispatcher.
- Basic 911 routes to the PSAP for that address, and the dispatcher does not receive the number or address unless the caller speaks them.
- The page says some Twilio numbers have neither service, and those 911 calls go to a national emergency call center. A Programmable Voice emergency page also opened.

What is going on
Read Basic and Enhanced as different products on Twilio's own page. Enhanced sends the number and the address. Basic does not. The national call center is the fallback the page describes when the number has neither. That is a Twilio sentence. It is not a description of Bandwidth and not a statute.
The page's headings also say to associate an address with the Twilio phone number and to change that emergency address when it is wrong. The address is data you maintain. This lab does not store a sample address.
Worked example
A US number with an emergency address: write E911 and list number plus address, because that is the page's sentence. A number the page would class as Basic: write that the dispatcher will not see the address unless the caller says it. Do not promise the same behavior in a country that is not on the list.
Quiz
1. On Twilio's trunk emergency page, E911 includes the Twilio number and the address.
True. That is the E911 sentence.
2. Every Twilio number has E911, according to that page.
False. The page says some numbers have neither Basic 911 nor E911.
Ecosystem
Sister pieces sit on the ecosystem page: the glossary, the mind map, the integration map, and the bridges.
- Emergency address — The address Twilio's page says to associate with the phone number used for the emergency call.
- Basic 911 — Twilio's term, on that page, for routing to the PSAP without automatically delivering the number and address.
Config. Record the number, the emergency address, and whether the page's category is E911, Basic, or the national center. Recheck when the address changes.
Troubleshooting. A dispatcher who cannot see the address may be on a Basic call or on a number without service. Read the page's three cases before you file a trunk ticket.
Bridge. The Wikipedia PSAP is the general call center. Twilio's list of countries is the product sentence. Keep both.
Mind map, sister technologies, and future hooks live on the ecosystem page.
