Teams Premium adds meeting and related features. It does not replace Teams Phone, a Calling Plan, Audio Conferencing, or a resource-account license. If a proposal removes Calling Plans because Premium was purchased, the proposal is wrong.
Say that out loud in the interview. Then go back to the connectivity option the users actually need.
Teams Premium is not a PSTN license.Keep Teams Phone and the connectivity option.
Signaling for Teams Premium is not PSTN. Teams keeps the dialog. A 488 is codecs, not a greeting. Each bar is a license Premium does not replace. Counts in this drawing are teaching order, not customers.
An add-on for advanced meetings and related features. It does not replace Teams Phone or a Calling Plan. Interview traps treat it as the PSTN license. Source: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-add-on-licensing/microsoft-teams-add-on-licensing accessed 2026-10-14.
A colleague reports: A design removes Calling Plans because Premium was purchased. Where do you start?
A design removes Calling Plans because Premium was purchased. Buy it only for the meeting features you actually need. Source: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-add-on-licensing/microsoft-teams-add-on-licensing accessed 2026-10-14.
Which description of Teams Phone Resource Account license is accurate?
The license each auto attendant or call queue resource account needs, even when the account has no phone number. Subscriptions with Teams Phone include a zero-cost allotment you still have to acquire. Do not put Teams Phone Standard on a resource account. Teams Phone The license capability that lets a user use Teams as a phone system. It is not, by itself, a PSTN carrier. Config: Assign Teams Phone, then add a connectivity option. Fault: Outbound PSTN fails because only Teams, not Teams Phone, is assigned.
Calling Plan A Microsoft-operated PSTN option. Domestic, international, and pay-as-you-go are the usual flavors. It is an extra license on top of Teams Phone. Config: Buy the plan only where Microsoft sells it, and assign it to the user. Fault: A user in an unsupported country is given a Calling Plan SKU that cannot be used.
Audio Conferencing The license that provides dial-in numbers for meetings. It is not Teams Phone. Config: Assign it to people who must publish a dial-in number. Fault: Conference dial-out hits the SBC and the carrier bill surprises finance.
Teams Premium An add-on for advanced meetings and related features. It does not replace Teams Phone or a Calling Plan. Config: Buy it only for the meeting features you actually need. Fault: A design removes Calling Plans because Premium was purchased.

Config and troubleshooting
Calling Plans are removed from an order because Premium was added.
Cross-platform bridges
CUCM
Cisco CUBE is one of the SBC families named in this lab’s certification lesson. A certified release can be the Direct Routing SBC between Unified CM and Teams.
The tenant still needs a verified domain on the SBC FQDN, and the user still needs Teams Phone. The studio translator does not open a live AXL session. Confirm the current certified release before you build.
Webex
Teams Phone and Webex Calling are separate clouds. This lab does not describe a feature that registers a Webex Calling user into a Teams tenant.
A number move is usually a carrier port, a certified SBC, or a meetings interop product. Confirm before relying.
UCCE
Unified CCE stays the ACD until you migrate it. Microsoft’s contact-center articles name Connect, Extend, and Unify. They do not name a UCCE connector in the notes this lab cites.
