AudioCodes documents Direct Routing for specific Mediant releases, often with their management tools beside the SBC.Use the document that matches the firmware.A 2019 forum post is not that document.
The shared gate still applies: public certificate, verified domain, three proxies, OPTIONS, media ports, a second path, and an emergency test.Their syntax is their problem.Your job is to know which gate failed.
AudioCodes is a certified family.Use their current guide, and do not skip the shared certificate and media gates.
Language, intent, and capacity for AudioCodes pattern. Overflow is a rule.Same gates for every vendor. Counts in this drawing are teaching order, not customers.

Which description of Ribbon SBC is accurate?
Ribbon’s certified session border controllers are a Direct Routing option. Core and software editions differ. The support path is Ribbon first, then Microsoft if the vendor escalates. Source: https://ribboncommunications.com/ accessed 2026-10-14.
A colleague reports: OPTIONS are answered on the wrong interface. Where do you start?
OPTIONS are answered on the wrong interface. Use Ribbon’s current Teams guide and a public certificate. Source: https://ribboncommunications.com/ accessed 2026-10-14.
Early offer Teams Direct Routing presents media in the INVITE. An SBC or CUBE that waits for a delayed offer will negotiate badly. Config: Set the vendor profile for early offer toward Teams. Fault: CUCM sends delayed offer all the way to Teams.
AudioCodes A certified SBC family. Mediant devices and their management tools are common in Direct Routing designs. The Microsoft certified list is the support boundary, the vendor guide is the config. Config: Follow AudioCodes’ current Teams document for the firmware you run. Fault: A forum config from 2019 is pasted onto new firmware.
Ribbon SBC Ribbon’s certified session border controllers are a Direct Routing option. Core and software editions differ. Config: Use Ribbon’s current Teams guide and a public certificate. Fault: OPTIONS are answered on the wrong interface.
Oracle SBC Oracle Communications Session Border Controller can be certified for Direct Routing on specific releases. Check the Microsoft list for the release, not the logo. Config: Match the certified software version and the certificate name. Fault: The beautiful config is one release below the certified list.
Sister technologies
Around the call: compliance recording, workforce management, emergency location, analytics, CRM screen pop, and an agent with a human escape. Each one has its own failure.
Config and troubleshooting
A forum config is pasted onto new firmware and OPTIONS never get a 200.
Cross-platform bridges
CUCM
Cisco CUBE is one of the SBC families named in this lab’s certification lesson. A certified release can be the Direct Routing SBC between Unified CM and Teams.
The tenant still needs a verified domain on the SBC FQDN, and the user still needs Teams Phone. The studio translator does not open a live AXL session. Confirm the current certified release before you build.
Webex
Teams Phone and Webex Calling are separate clouds. This lab does not describe a feature that registers a Webex Calling user into a Teams tenant.
A number move is usually a carrier port, a certified SBC, or a meetings interop product. Confirm before relying.
UCCE
Unified CCE stays the ACD until you migrate it. Microsoft’s contact-center articles name Connect, Extend, and Unify. They do not name a UCCE connector in the notes this lab cites.
