Fundamentals help with Azure and identity vocabulary. They do not make you a voice engineer.
AZ-900, Azure Fundamentals, was not on the retirement list reviewed on 14 October 2026. SC-900, Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals, is live and the English certification is scheduled to update on 21 October 2026. MS-900 retired on 31 March 2026. AI-900 retired on 30 June 2026.
Use AZ-900 if you need Azure words for ACS and Speech. Use SC-900 if you need Entra and compliance words for Conditional Access and recording’s trust boundary. Neither one replaces MS-700 or AB-250.
AZ-900 and SC-900 are optional context. They are not the voice exam or the contact-center exam.
AZ-900 and SC-900 are context. MS-900 and AI-900 are retired. The role exams still matter.
If it fails: A voice design is accepted because someone passed AZ-900.

Cisco CUBE is one of the SBC families named in this lab’s certification lesson. A certified release can be the Direct Routing SBC between Unified CM and Teams.
The tenant still needs a verified domain on the SBC FQDN, and the user still needs Teams Phone. The studio translator does not open a live AXL session. Confirm the current certified release before you build.
Teams Phone and Webex Calling are separate clouds. This lab does not describe a feature that registers a Webex Calling user into a Teams tenant.
